If The Word ‘Obesity’ Hurts Your Feelings, You Have Two Choices

Just no.

Words do not hurt your body. Your bad habits and decisions hurt your body.

Being classified as “obese” might hurt your feelings, but you should see this alleged negative as a positive. You need a kick up the backside to change habits that are going to directly correlate to your lack of enjoyment of life (not just your ability to move your body, but also your confidence, your moods, your cognitive ability, your sleep, and your sex drive).

I have not even started on the all-cause mortality increases due to obesity. That’s a posh way of saying “if you’re very fat, you are more likely to die of anything at all than if you were a healthier bodyweight”.

I’m not going to tell you that words don’t have power. They do.

The power that words have is ALL in the mind of the person hearing them. If a word hurts you then you have two choices, you run away from that word or you run towards it and try to fix the discomfort it causes you.

What type of person are you?

PS: if you have run away in the past, that doesn’t mean you have to run away in the present. We are not fixed by our pasts, what counts is what we do today.
