Not letting stress and weight gain get on top of us: Week 5

Week 5 again training-wise was tough because we couldn’t actually get into the Ultimate Performance Manchester gym as often as we wanted.

We had to rely mostly on clean food and squeezing in cardio at home. I have my radio job, travelling to London, and my dog Norman going back and forth to the vet for his checks after his broken leg.

Not every week is as busy as this, so it’s just a one-off that I have had to deal with.

On the plus side (and because he’s so thoughtful) knowing how manic I was this week, Gorka had arranged a surprise weekend away for me!

We hadn’t seen much of each other and although it was only for two nights, we had the best time.

We flew to Ibiza on the Friday night for some sunshine and came home on Sunday. To lay in the sun and switch off after the crazy week was just what I needed.

I’d allowed myself to get stressed with work projects and, believe it or not, it’s an added factor to weight gain.

We didn’t drink in Ibiza and we stuck to clean foods and fresh salads. We hired bikes to go cycling on the island and we did 10 lengths in the pool each morning. It made exercising seem even more fun for us, so thanks Gorka! It was just what I needed.
