How to Tell If Your Trainer Is a Keeper

Being a great trainer is impossible to fake.

You don’t have to like your client. In fact, in the unfortunate circumstance when you think your client is a schmuck, it really isn’t the end of the world. “Liking” someone is irrelevant, albeit mildly helpful. What counts is professional pride.

You don’t have to like your lawyer, and your lawyer doesn’t have to like you. Professional respect is all that is required – not enough of the fitness industry recognizes this universal truth.

A great trainer is full of self-respect for your results. They get p*ssed off when results stall, and that feeling is why they dig relentlessly into what they need to change in order to get things moving in the right direction.

A great trainer shows you that they care about your progress because that’s what gets the buy-in needed for most clients to follow all the important details.

Don’t settle for anything less, whether you’re a trainer or a client.
