I Want to Get Fit, Healthy and Looking Good For My Wedding: Sarah’s Blog

Hollyoaks actress Sarah Jayne Dunn is aiming to get in the best shape of her life ready for her wedding – so she is taking on a 12-week body transformation with Ultimate Performance’s Online Personal Training programme.

The 36-year-old star, who plays Mandy Richardson in the Channel 4 soap, will be blogging every step of the way to her wedding day with UP.

Career woman and new mum Sarah will be sharing her best tips on training, nutrition and lifestyle through all the ups and downs of her wedding body transformation journey.

I’m getting married in 12 weeks!

There’s no bigger motivation than wanting to look and feel great on your wedding day.

There will be nothing better than walking down the aisle full of energy, skin glowing and feeling amazing.

This why I am embarking on a 12-week transformation with Ultimate Performance – to get back in optimum shape.

I did something like this a few years ago; I trained really hard, ate really well and I felt the best I’d ever felt.

I know how good you can feel being really healthy and physically strong and I really want to get that back.

My skin was better, my sleep improved and my energy levels were sky-high. I felt amazing for feeling strong – and this is something I wanted to get back to.

One thing after another has got in the way of getting my fitness back.

I did my personal training qualification and then I got pregnant not long after that.

Then obviously being pregnant and becoming a mum for the first time, having a baby and then going through all the post-natal changes that your body goes through, I just feel that now is my time to get back in shape and to really be at my best again.

Obviously, the wedding is my main motivation, but I also want to set a good example to my family that you can eat properly and feel good; I want my little boy to see mummy exercising and being healthy.

I’m excited to see how far I can push myself and what I can achieve in 12 weeks with Ultimate Performance.

It’s also just for my own personal well-being; I know how good you can feel being really healthy and physically strong and I really want to get that back.

Nothing beats that feeling! That’s what I want for my wedding day – I imagine every bride does.

So many people will do a fitness programme ready for their wedding. They think ‘I’m going to get in shape, get fit, and I’m going to be really good’.

But often they go about it the wrong way with fad diets or exercise that won’t be beneficial for their goal – whether that’s fat loss or muscle building, or whatever it is that people want.

I didn’t want to be that person on their wedding day who thinks ‘I wish I’d have just done things a little different or little bit better.’

I want to get to my wedding day and think ‘I’ve done everything that I wanted to do and I feel amazing.’

You see people starving themselves, crash dieting or following fad diets (they are a real bugbear of mine) and they’re just miserable.

They’ve got no energy or they’re constantly counting every little bit of food they have.

But there’s a better way of doing things where you feel full, healthy and energised.

I’m excited to see how far I can push myself and what I can achieve in 12 weeks with Ultimate Performance.

The hard work starts here.
