Lourence was struggling with a difficult period in his life before he came to UP to change things up and get himself back on the path to optimal health.

What obstacles were standing in your way before you started your UP transformation?

Before starting with UP, I was at the most difficult point in my life, both physically and emotionally.

I had experienced quite significant life-changing difficulties in my personal life which subsequently impacted massively on the way I was feeling and my mood.

Even as a psychiatrist, I found myself struggling! I had also let my physical health deteriorate and I was experiencing the consequences of that, which included lower back pain.

I decided I needed to turn the negative life event into something positive and to try and get myself into shape again, so I joined the gym.

Unfortunately, I quickly found I didn’t know what I was doing. I was unsure how to structure my workouts, the correct form for the exercises I was carrying out and my calorie consumption and the structure of my meal plans.

After six months in the gym, I began to become frustrated as I did not achieve the results I was hoping for. Thankfully I came across UP on social media and quickly took notice of the fantastic results they were achieving. 

I decided to book a consultation with Mark the manager to see if could enlist their help in my mission to achieve my goal of getting in shape.

What did you find as a result of training with UP?

From the first time I met Mark, I was impressed by the professional nature of the PTs and the atmosphere in the gym.

I decided to sign up for a couple of weeks to see if it was right for me. I quickly realised it was the best decision I made and signed up for a total of 22 weeks!

From the first time I met James, my PT, he instantly made me feel comfortable and helped me focus on my goals and clearly outlined how to reach them.

Throughout the process, he has always had my best interest at heart and was there to support, guide, motivate and encourage me along every step of the way. I was able to trust my PT fully and I knew if I listened to him he would get me the results I want. 

As a result, he helped break my limits time and time again. I quickly began to notice changes in my body composition and big changes in my strength. I am now in the best physical shape of my life and achieved results better than any of my expectations.

James has totally transformed my lifestyle and provided me with the tools to keep myself in shape for the rest of my life for which I will be forever grateful.

What was the biggest benefit you got from training with UP?

I have learnt so much from my time at UP. The biggest things were around correct form for the exercises I was carrying out and around nutrition.

I have learnt what I need to do if I want to cut down my body fat and also how to build muscle from both an exercise point of view and a diet point of view.

The knowledge I have gained from my time at UP has been invaluable and has essentially set me for life.

What three other benefits have you found from your transformation with UP?

I have enjoyed working with a PT and having someone there to push me to my limit and help me repeatedly break my limit.

With the PT sessions, I always found that the intensity of the sessions were that much higher than when I trained on my own. With the presence of a PT, there is a level of accountability which you do not get if you train on your own.

My diet has improved immensely since being with UP due to the knowledge I have acquired from my time at UP.

I feel so much healthier, my energy levels have improved, my stress levels have decreased and my mood has improved as a consequence of the exercise and improved nutrition in my diet.

My physical health and body composition have improved massively since being at UP.

I no longer experience the back pain I was previously experiencing prior to starting with UP.

Furthermore, I have achieved results in a relatively short period of time beyond any of my expectations.

Would you recommend UP?

100%, yes! It has totally transformed my lifestyle. The benefits I got from UP were numerous. My physical health improved, I no longer experience any back pain, I feel more energetic and have found it helped to improve my mental state. Not to mention my body composition improved massively and I was able to hit and even exceed the goals I had set with my PT.
