We are always recommending to our personal training clients the importance of getting the whole family, both young and old, to exercise. A recent US study has shown that exercise could play a part in staving off Alzheimer’s as it improves blood flow to the brain.
By studying the brains of humans and mice, researchers in the USA have discovered that a slow, chronic reduction of blood sugar can trigger some forms of Alzheimer’s. They surmised that depriving the brain of energy leads to the build-up of sticky clumps of protein which they believe is a cause of the disease.
