The short answer – no.
Being a lazy bastard with no concept of portion control, that’s what makes you fat.
Longer answer – carbs are almost always the macronutrients that you can drop aggressively and stay healthy so some people will get a nice fat loss boost by playing with lowered carb intake.
I’ve also seen some people who only ever get into shape on very low carb (with commensurately higher fat) diets, so don’t buy into the evidence-based fitness warriors and their ‘IIFYM flexible dieting’ mantra.
Trust me, what works with active, young and muscular personal trainers very often doesn’t work with inactive, metabolically challenged personal training clients.
If it did there’d be a whole lot more results doing the rounds.
